The Celebrity Apprentice

My sister appeared on the Celebrity Apprentice. It was a farce. She did great, though.

Donald Trump Viper Pit at afterparty:

Btw, totally rigged. A number of NBC executives told me so at the afterparty (but who ever really thought otherwise? It's Donald Trump and Mark Burnett!). I am proud of my sister for raising a million dollars for international refugees.

Princeton

May 13: Reading with Joshua Clover as part of the Princeton Graduate Poetry Colloquium, Labyrinth Books, Princeton, NJ. 5:30PM.

This was a lot of fun. Joshua and I both read and then presented intellectual statements. The students were expecting a brawl, but Joshua and I agreed on pretty much everything except for: (1) whether or not we believe in The Revolution (I don’t; he does); (2) whether or not we’re willing to work at hedge funds (I am; he isn’t); (3) probably (and this is conjecture) whether or not we would spend our Sabbatical in Paris (I have never been to Paris-embarrassing, but true). We had a great discussion over a wonderful Indian dinner after the reading and Q&A. Great fun to discuss the financial issues of the day with Joshua!

Burlington, VT

April 29: Reading as part of the Painted Word Poetry Series, at the Fleming Museum, University of Vermont, Burlington, VT. 6:30PM.

Again, no pictures due to broken phone… but the memories will live on!… Wonderful space, wonderful audience… and it was great to see my old friends Josh and Rachel and their beautiful little boy.

Galway, Ireland

April 26: Reading and appearing as a panelist as part of “Are Economists the New Politicians” at the Cuirt International Festival. The Meyrick Hotel, Galway, Ireland. 7PM.

No pictures (I dropped my iPhone in Kennedy Airport and broke it)—very unfortunate. Truly fascinating panel.
